New Towne Mall
Magical Night of Giving

What is Magical Night of Giving?
This popular holiday fund-raising evening was last held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 from 3 PM to 9 PM. Magical Night of Giving is an extravaganza of exclusive savings throughout the mall, plus family-oriented activities and holiday entertainment. In addition, fabulous door prizes will be awarded.  The 2008 event will be held on Sunday, November 16th from 6pm-10pm.

Is Magical Night of Giving open to the public?
Yes, the mall is open to the general public during the event; however, purchase of a ticket by making a $5 donation to a participating non-profit organization entitles customers to receive the exclusive savings offered by mall merchants.

How can I purchase a ticket?
Tickets are available to the general public from local non-profit and charitable organizations. They are also available for purchase at the Mall Office.

When should I arrive for this event?
On the Saturday that Magical Night of Giving took place, the mall was open to the public during normal business hours (10am - 9pm).  Beginning at 3pm, ticketholders were privy to the special sales and door prize drawings associated with Magical Night of Giving.

Why is Magical Night of Giving held?
It is New Towne Mall's wish to give back to the community that is so good to us all year. 100% of the funds raised through ticket sales go to local charities.

This event also provides a unique chance for people to get a jump start on their holiday shopping and have a lot of fun at the same time, including visiting with Santa. With the many store discounts and specials being offered, MAGICAL NIGHT VIP shoppers can save money while raising funds for local non-profit and charitable groups.

How do non-profit organizations make money?
The event is a unique fundraising occasion in that it presents an opportunity for local non-profits to benefit by receiving 100% of the funds raised from ticket sales. Any qualified non-profit organization, including schools, churches and other groups wishing to become a part of the event, will receive pre-printed tickets from the mall, which its members can sell to the public. There are no start-up cost or fees to the organizations that sell tickets.

Why do shoppers want to buy tickets?
First, all the money generated by ticket sales is donated to the non-profit group selling the tickets. Second, purchase of a ticket also entitles shoppers to receive special offers and discounts from stores that only are available to MAGICAL NIGHT VIP
shoppers that night. Shoppers attending find a wide variety of family-friendly activities and entertainment, including live musical performances, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and gift-wrap and much more. Magical Night of Giving also features special visits with Santa Claus and his entourage.

Tell me more about the prizes.
Prizes of varying values were awarded throughout the evening. To be eligible to win a prize, you must have completed an official entry form on the night of the event and deposit in the Official Prize Entry box located near Center Court or submited a mail-in entry. Winning numbers were posted on a tote board and are on our website. Details, including a list of prizes, are available at the Mall Management Office or on-line at
http://www.newtownemall.com. Employees of Glimcher Realty Trust and its affiliate companies are not eligible to win prizes but may take advantage of the MAGICAL NIGHT VIP discounts.

Just how big is this event?
In 2005, more than 200,000 shoppers and charity patrons attended Magical Night of Giving at Glimcher malls across the nation, raising $1,100,000 that went to over 1,000 non-profit organizations in the 22 cities that participated.  It has grown and developed every year since.

How do we get involved?
Representatives of qualified non-profit organizations interested in becoming a part of the event are encouraged to reserve tickets by calling the mall's Marketing Director in the New Towne Mall office at 330-339-8701.

Tickets are available from participating non-profit organizations and at the Mall.
