Maurices raises $50k for local charities nationwide
Duluth, Minn. - For the fourth consecutive year, Maurices´ stores nationwide sold a special holiday ornament and donated the money to charity. The majority of Maurices´ family of stores chose a charity to support within their community; however, if a store does not designate a local charity, the monies are donated to the Toys for Tots. This year, the program raised in excess of $50k nationwide, bringing the total contribution to date over $200,000.
The custom designed snowflake was sold for $1, with the entire dollar going to charity. Stores were excited to sell out and many did, even earlier than in previous years. Nancy Adams, company spokesperson, says, "This was another successful year for our ornament program and we are thrilled about the money that has been raised to support local communities."
"We would like to thank all of our customers, past and present, who help us to support such worthy causes nationwide," says Adams.
Established in 1931, Maurices is wholly owned by dressbarn Incorporated (NASDAQ: DBRN), and operates more than 450 stores nationwide. For career and store location information, check out www.maurices.com.
