Elder-Beerman at New Towne Mall will expand and remodel in 2005
(April 11, 2005) New Philadelphia, Ohio -- New Towne Mall announced today that Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. will expand its Elder-Beerman department store at the mall by 20,000 square feet. Elder-Beerman´s current store will also undergo a significant remodel this year.
"New Philadelphia is an important market for us and we are pleased to have this opportunity to expand this facility by 20,000 square feet to the existing 52,000 square feet," says Mary Kerr, VP Corporate Communications for Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. "The project includes not only new businesses, but upgrading the existing facility to provide our customers with an exceptional shopping experience at Elder-Beerman. We will expand the existing assortment and add new businesses such as mattresses and recliners."
Construction on the new space has begun, with the remodel of the current store continuing throughout 2005. The new Elder-Beerman department store will encompass 72,000 square feet of retail space.
The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. operates 139 department stores and two furniture stores in 16 states from the Northeast to the Midwest under the Bon-Ton and Elder-Beerman names. The stores carry a broad assortment of quality brand-name fashion apparel and accessories for women, men and children, as well as distinctive home furnishings.
