New Towne Mall Announces Two New Store Openings
March 3, 2006 (New Philadelphia, Ohio) -- New Towne Mall announced today that two national retailers will open new locations this spring at the center.
Hot Topic has already begun construction on its new store at New Towne Mall. The store will incorporate 1463 square feet of space next to Pacific Sunwear just off the food court.
Hot Topic is one of the fastest-growing mall-based specialty retailers, with over 592 Hot Topic stores, 76 Torrid stores and 110 new stores planned to open in 2005. The store offers music-licensed and influenced apparel, accessories, and gift items. Hot Topic stores consistently produce record-breaking sales, earnings per share, and net income. Fortune Magazine ranks Hot Topic 55th among the "100 Best Companies to Work For" and 20th on their list of "Best Mid-Sized Companies to Work For".
Kay Jewelers is projected to begin construction this quarter on a new 1587 square foot store located near the food court in the former locations of Claire´s Boutique and Auntie Anne´s Pretzels.
Kay Jewelers is owned by Sterling Jewelers, Inc., an Akron, Ohio-based company. With over 750 locations nationwide, Kay Jewelers is a leader among its peers. Claire´s Boutique relocated to a larger space in the food court in December 2005. "Claire´s Boutique was outperforming their location. It became necessary to expand their sales space, which they have more than doubled in their new location, with a bright, new look and feel to their store," said Fleser.
Auntie Anne´s Hand-Rolled Pretzels is currently under construction at the corner between the Elder-Beerman Home Store and Kohl´s. The new location is 38% larger than the former location in the food court. The new store will sell current classics, as well as a variety of soups. "A café-style seating area in front of the new location will allow customers to sit and enjoy their Auntie Anne´s selections," said Fleser.
